Ornamente di Natale Rotto
36" x 48" Oil on Canvas. 2006
ABOUT THE PAINTING
The Christmas ornament lay broken in its box. It had never been placed on a tree, and now never would. But perhaps this was not its intended purpose. Perhaps this broken ornament was meant for something greater?
Although I studied frame restoration at the Louvre in Paris, France, I prefer to sell my original oil paintings unframed due to the history of frames and the framing process.
I feel that the frame finishes the painting and offers the patron an outlet to express their response to the painting and to contribute to the completion of the artwork.
It brings me joy to see the various ways in which my patrons have chosen to complete their pieces.
