45.7." x 35" Oil on Linen. 2010
ABOUT THE PAINTING
The way this wilted iris seems to be lifting itself to glory. Edges curl as the flower begins to fade. I found this beautiful offering cheering a gray, Parisian sidewalk.
Although I studied frame restoration at the Louvre in Paris, France, I prefer to sell my original oil paintings unframed due to the history of frames and the framing process.
I feel that the frame finishes the painting and offers the patron an outlet to express their response to the painting and to contribute to the completion of the artwork.
It brings me joy to see the various ways in which my patrons have chosen to complete their pieces.
