The Treasure
24" x 24" Oil on Canvas. 2019
ABOUT THE PAINTING
This token was presented to me by a child who excitedly exclaimed, "Look! A TREASURE!" We are often busy. Phone in hand, we might not notice the small treasure until it's colors begin to fade. This is for those who have not forgotten
Although I studied frame restoration at the Louvre in Paris, France, I prefer to sell my original oil paintings unframed due to the history of frames and the framing process.
I feel that the frame finishes the painting and offers the patron an outlet to express their response to the painting and to contribute to the completion of the artwork.
It brings me joy to see the various ways in which my patrons have chosen to complete their pieces.
