Rouge
12" x 12" Oil and Gold Leaf on Canvas. 2021
ABOUT THE PAINTING
This painting is part of a series that utilized gold leaf for the background.
Although I studied frame restoration at the Louvre in Paris, France, I prefer to sell my original oil paintings unframed due to the history of frames and the framing process.
I feel that the frame finishes the painting and offers the patron an outlet to express their response to the painting and to contribute to the completion of the artwork.
It brings me joy to see the various ways in which my patrons have chosen to complete their pieces.
