Discarded CDs

30" x 40" Oil  on Canvas. 2008

The multitude of colors that flash across a compact disc is epitomizes the endless array of data that they can hold. Do these contain music? Photos? Stories? I found these unmarked CD's either discarded or accidentally dropped on the street and allowed them to retain their mystery.

Although I studied frame restoration at the Louvre in Paris, France, I prefer to sell my original oil paintings unframed due to the history of frames and the framing process.

I feel that the frame finishes the painting and offers the patron an outlet to express their response to the painting and to contribute to the completion of the artwork.

It brings me joy to see the various ways in which my patrons have chosen to complete their pieces.
